Waste, a shared challenge
Waste represents a common challenge
Each of us (individuals, professionals, local administration,... ) produces waste, of which the nature and the quantity vary. Waste management constitutes a real challenge for society. The Intercommunal Organization, through its hygiene service , is engaged in a common approach.
To educate and to make aware the young ,is the basis of every activity
Firstly to reach youngsters by participation with teachers and the Federation des oeuvres laiques in the Aube in primary and secondary schools. Important work is being undertaken in this domain that will become more focused with the opening of waste collection centres. It is based on games , experimentation and group work with the help of teaching aids such as the "Rouletaboule " teaching pack recommended by ADEME.
Reaching the users
Raising the awareness of the whole population is done through different exhibitions, conferences, visits to waste collection centres, activities within Town Councils. The use of videocassettes will allow the completion of this project that will be developed with the help of trainers formed by the hygiene service team.
Working with business people
A special way of passing information is reserved for business people (SMF, SMI, small industries that are regrouped within a special commission. During the last year awareness, sessions and discussions on the search for appropriate technical solutions to the problems raised took place.
Encouraging action by charities
For charities, our waste constitutes an important resource, a part of their activities and their jobs. This applies particularly to the French Red Cross , the Foyer Aubois, the League against Cancer... they are interested in the recuperation of glass, clothes, trinkets and certain directly recyclable large waste .
