SIMPA Joinery

Second French industrial joiner, SIMPA, based in Vendeuvre - Sur - Barse, in the south of the Park, makes in its four national factories all the joinery products nedeed for the home. SIMPA owns two distribution platforms situated in the Aube and Maine et Loire. Everyday, 1,200 wooden window frames are produced in the workshops.

DESS
Umbrellas

DESS is a company which manufactures umbrellas and sunshades. It also distributes umbrellas and installs blinds to order. In 1978, Mr and Mrs DESSAUW created a firm to sell Austrian and Swiss umbrellas that were quickly distributed in Parisian department stores and their national branches. Four years later, umbrellas were manufactured in Onjon, in the family's home. They carried the DESS "trade mark ".

In 1984, a factory was opened in Piney, where the activity developed thanks to the mass production of all types, sizes and styles of top quality umbrellas: fantasy, fashion and marketing . In 1991, the " Champagne Umbrella ", was patented, and seen in Paris, in various salons, by Japanese and American buyers who appreciated the creativeness and sophistication of the items. This seasonal work is replaced, in the spring, by the production of sunshades for gardens, marketing sunshades and by the distribution and installation of blinds.

Tile workshop in Amance

Situated on the park territory since the end of the last century, the two tile workshos in Amance have the particularity to be located in the village of Amance. Owned by two brothers, their production ranges from terracotta bricks to faience tiles (glazed eathenware tiles), as well as flat tiles and the ridge tiles, those cover many houses in our territory. At the beginning of the century, many other tile works exploited the clay here.
The tile works in Amance are, today, with the tile works in Soulaines Dhuys, the last still active tile works in the territory of the Large Lakes.
